MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT

Acquaintance with Yoga should not end with completing a course at the Yoga Institute, Santacruz. You have consciously associated yourself with Yoga- the New Way of Life. You have to maintain your link. You should specially maintain your association with like-minded persons who were with you and who are putting efforts to better themselves and strengthen themselves. That’s how we think of the Alumni Association. Joint activities, when started, should be taken up by all past members.

Swadhyaya aims at maintaining and enhancing fellowship amongst the qualified teachers and renewing their bond with the institute. The activities that have been carried out by this Association include:
  1. Monthly meetings of the members, including educational and recreational activities in the form of talks, sharing sessions, games, etc.
  2. Two Picnics / Outings in a year.
  3. Organizing Sanskrit classes.
  4. Teaching Yoga techniques and concepts in schools, colleges and the underprivileged.
  5. Celebration of Guru Purnima at the Institute.
  6. Helping out in Yoga Institute’s stalls at various exhibitions.
  7. Quarterly newsletter for the members.
  8. Conducting Sanskrit classes for members.

Eligibility: All those who have successfully completed their 7 months or 1 year TTC.

Meetings are held every Second Sunday of the month from 11a.m. to 12 noon.
Membership Fees For 1 year (April 08 – March 09) - Rs.100/- only.
                                   For 3 years (April 08 – March 11) – Rs. 250/- only.

Sanskrit courses at the Institute
Swadhyaya is arranging two special sanskrit courses conducted by The Chitrapur Math, Srivalli

  1. Two day 6 hour sanskrit introductory certificate course ‘UPASANA’:
    It is a unique interactive course in which only sanskrit is spoken, and yet every word spoken is understood by each of the participants
    Dates: 07 march 2009: 2.00PM to 5.00PM & sunday 08 march 2009: 10.45AM to 01.45PM.
    Fees: Rs.100/- inclusive of study material provided
    This course is a must before pursuing ‘ARADHANA’
    Those who have done upasana course earlier may repeat for revision before starting on ‘ARADHANA’ if they so desire.

  2. Six months, 2 hours/week sanskrit study certificate course ARADHANA’.
     To be followed by an examination. Involves a lot of home-work and study material and only serious students should join.
    Dates: every saturday starting 14 march 2009 time: 2.30PM to 4.30PM
    Fees: Rs.500/- inclusive of study material provided

Location for both courses: The Yoga Institute:
‘ARADHANA’ course starts on condition of minimum 15 participants

These courses are open to all.
