Obesity is
increasing at an alarming rate all over the world and
particularly in India. There are several contributing
factors towards this problem that are becoming very
common in our lifestyle. In spite of different types
of diets and weight loss programs, often the results
are not satisfactory. And even when they are satisfactory,
they mostly remain so only in the short term. The basic
reason for this ‘yoyo effect’ is that obesity
is not the cause of the problem. It’s only the
effect of some deep-rooted problem within one’s
total personality complex, ie physical, mental, emotional
and spiritual self. A disharmony in one’s balanced
state of mind leads to different manifestations of the
same; Obesity is one of them.
Yoga deals with obesity at all levels- physical, mental,
spiritual and not to forget the diet. Keeping all these
in mind, The Yoga Institute has designed a special two
day camp on Weight Management. The camp is held on the
last weekend of every month and includes specific stretches
and asanas, pranayamas, kriyas, interactive sessions
with Hansaji, talks by medical specialists, health counselling,
yogic counselling, personalised diet programs, low-calorie
diet recipes, etc. |
